Support Lrnon, in the open.

We are raising funds to keep Lrnon free and improve the platform, learning content, accessibility, AI learning tools and infrastructure. Initial funding will support hosting, development, content creation, accessibility features and practical AI-learning experiences.

We don't want to invent fundraising targets until we have calculated our actual 3–6 months of operating expenses. So there is no goal on this page, and no progress bar. Give to the area you care about, and watch the ledger below fill up.

How Lrnon is funded

Until 15 October 2026 Lrnon was paid for by its founder alone, and it promised no advertising and no sponsorship of any kind. That has been replaced, and this is the page that says so. Lrnon is now open to three kinds of money. What has not changed is the part that matters to a learner: you never pay, and nothing a learner needs is behind money.

Donations

From anyone who wants to give, learners included. Never required, never asked for inside a lesson, and unlocking nothing.

Grants

From funders who share the aim. A grant cannot be conditional on covering, ranking or recommending a product.

Advertising

Possible, under the strict rules below. None is shown today: there is no advertiser and no approved advertisement.

What giving does and does not do

The rules for advertising

These are written so that each one can be checked by a test, and the build fails if one is broken. If an advertisement is ever shown, it will be labelled, and the ledger below will say who paid and who approved it.

  1. No advertisement appears inside a lesson, a quiz, the daily review, an assessment or certificate, the accessibility panel, Sky, the community rooms, Ask Doubts, or any account, privacy, child-safety or support page. Advertising is limited to a few browsing pages.
  2. Anyone may advertise, including a company whose product Lrnon teaches about. What is never allowed is hiding the conflict from the learner it could affect. An advertiser that Lrnon also describes is named as an advertiser beside that description, on its tool card and in every lesson that names it, while the advertisement runs and for 90 days after. Its advertisement never appears on a page about it.
  3. Every advertiser and promoter is listed in the open, on the support page and in the repository: who they are, what they paid, the dates, the pages involved, and who approved it. Nothing is paid for in private.
  4. Payment buys nothing in the curriculum. An advertiser cannot see, ask for or pay for any change to a lesson, a tool card, a comparison or what Sky says, and a request to do so is declined and recorded.
  5. No tracking and no personalised or behavioural targeting, for anyone. No advertising-network scripts, cookies or identifiers. An advertisement is a labelled line of text, or an image kept on this site, with a plain link.
  6. No gambling, alcohol, tobacco or vaping, loans or credit, crypto or trading, weight-loss or health claims, dating, adult content, political or religious campaigning, or services that write or sell students' coursework.
  7. Every advertisement is labelled "Advertisement" and names who paid for it.
  8. No advertisement moves, flashes, plays sound or starts anything by itself, and each one respects the reader's text size, contrast, font and motion settings like the rest of the page.
  9. Lrnon is open to every age and cannot tell who is reading, so anything shown must be suitable for any age.

Advertisers and promoters

The public register. Anyone who has paid to be shown on Lrnon is listed here, in the open, with what they paid and who approved it. A company that is also described in a lesson is labelled as an advertiser beside that description.

Nobody yet. When someone is, this table is the first place it appears.

Lrnon is currently an independently built initiative. It is not yet a registered charity or nonprofit. We are starting small, publishing our funding and spending openly, and will formalise the appropriate structure as the initiative grows.

Choose what your money does

Six areas. No amount attached to any of them. Pick an area and your contribution is recorded against it in the ledger. You can split one gift across several areas, or skip the choice entirely and give to whatever is most urgent.

Area 01

Hosting & infrastructure

Servers, bandwidth, domain renewal. The one bill that has to be paid before anything else exists.

Give to this area →

Area 02

Development

Building and maintaining the site itself, including the accessibility work already shipped.

Area 03

Learning content

Writing, editing and fact-checking lessons. Paid work where it needs a specialist.

Area 04

Accessibility features

Recorded narration, dyslexia-friendly typography, high-contrast modes, and an external audit.

Area 05

AI learning tools

Tools that help a learner practise and get feedback without waiting for a human to mark it.

Area 06

Practical AI-learning experiences

Hands-on exercises where learners use AI tools directly, rather than reading about them.

Recorded in the ledger as wherever it's needed most, and reported the same way once spent. Most useful early on, when the biggest gap changes month to month.

The public ledger

Every contribution, and any advertising income, appears here, oldest first, with no tiers and no bigger names for bigger cheques. This is the whole table — it is empty because nothing has come in yet. Totals shown in INR.

DateFromAmountRecorded against
Nothing has been received yet. The first contribution will appear here.

Rows are added by hand within a few days of receipt, and never removed — a correction is published as its own dated row.
